Position Overview The Aggregates Plant Manager is responsible for the supervision and operations of a quarry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee and direct operations at the facility.
Ensure that all operations are in full compliance with federal and state regulations.
Manage capital projects and process improvements.
Supervise and direct all facility personnel, ensure proper placement of resources.
Enforce company policies, procedures and work rules; discipline when necessary and document all employee performance issues.
Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings, including tool box talks; ensure facilities are operating in a safe manner.
Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems, in a timely and effective manner.
Maintain proper job records such as schedules, etc.
Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
Other Responsibilities Assist with various training initiatives as necessary.
Attend relevant conferences/seminars/shows (with Manager approval) relative to technological advancements.
Ensure that the workplace is kept in a neat, clean, tidy and safe condition.
This includes the equipment, office, storage areas, and yard.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Cost responsibility at the facility.
Strive to lower cost and increase productivity through efficiency and innovations.
Conduct monthly meetings with foreperson(s) to review controllable variable costs.
Assist with annual budget process for the next season.
Conduct monthly operations forecast and maintain accurate inventory control.
Conduct annual evaluations of direct reports; ensure evaluation process is conducted properly for all other operating personnel at the facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities The Aggregates Plant Manager is responsible for all Operations team members assigned to the quarry.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to Conrad Yelvington Distributors guidelines and standards.
Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent 5 years' of quarry or aggregate experience Knowledge/Skill Requirements Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
